Reference month and release date

The reference month is the month the figures describe. The release date is when BLS publishes them. For example, the January 2026 release covers December 2025. Use the reference month when matching a CPI observation to its period.

Release time and next year's schedule

Every release in this table is scheduled for 08:30 Eastern Time. The table covers publication dates in calendar year 2026, ending with the release for November 2026; it is not a list of all 2026 reference months.

Narwhal API checked the BLS schedule on 2 October 2026. BLS has not yet published its 2027 schedule. Those dates will be added here when available.

Use CPI data and release dates

The Economics API uses BLS series CUUR0000SA0 for US CPI: CPI-U, all items, not seasonally adjusted. The Economic calendar API lists CPI, PPI, Employment Situation and other releases across the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
