Source and date notes

The two tables distinguish statutory holidays from additional rest days for a five-day week with Saturday and Sunday off. Ordinary weekends are excluded, so the 20 listed dates are not the total number of days off in 2027. Regional holidays and other work patterns are outside this guide.

Resolution No. 1187 of 17 September 2026 moves the rest days from 2 January to 5 November, 3 January to 31 December, and 20 February to 22 February. The January dates remain statutory holidays; Saturday 20 February becomes a working day.

Article 112 supplies the statutory dates and weekend-substitution rule; the government’s annual announcement confirms the May and June rest periods. The New Year break starts on 31 December 2026, outside this table’s year. The 31 December 2027 rest day comes from the January transfer, not from applying a US-style Friday observance rule.
