A policy rate is an interest rate a central bank sets to steer short-term rates. In this series, two_week_repo_rate identifies the instrument and CZK identifies its currency. Each point observation contains a single rate. The value is a decimal string expressed in percent per annum, which describes the rate on an annual basis.

The CNB series uses effective_on, the date a rate took effect. The contract also has observed_on for sources that record observation dates; each response contains exactly one of these fields. An optional announced_on field records the announcement date. Future effective dates never replace the current rate early, so an announced change and the rate currently in force can differ.

Get the Czech National Bank two-week repo rate from the API

The policy-rate routes are public. Access includes live data on every plan, including Free, with one metered unit per request.

  1. Request the latest rate Send CZE as the uppercase country code and include your API key in the Authorization header. With no date parameter, the endpoint selects the latest source observation at or before today in UTC. Read effective_on alongside the rate.

    curl --fail \
      --header "Authorization: Bearer $NARWHAL_API_KEY" \

  2. Request a past date Add date to select the latest source observation at or before that date. The requested date and the returned effective date can differ. Days without a source publication are left absent, and the API does not invent observations to fill them.
Rate at or before a date
    curl --fail \

  3. Request the history Use start to begin at the coverage boundary. Observations arrive oldest first. Follow next_cursor until it is null, and pass each returned cursor in the next request. Cursors pin publications for 24 hours; an expired cursor returns a 409 response. Each page request consumes one metered unit.

The Czech National Bank publishes the underlying series. Narwhal preserves the published values and returns the rate with its instrument, currency and date field. These fields keep the meaning of each observation attached to its value when you store or compare historical responses.

How do I get the CNB repo rate history?

Request the history endpoint with CZE, then set start and optionally end for your date range. Use the returned observations for the series and continue through its cursors. A dated point request returns one observation at or before your chosen date. The policy-rate documentation describes the shared response fields.
