Choose Narwhal API when
You need Narwhal's published international economic indicators, FX, SEC filing discovery, selected equities, Palmoil, or holiday data through one account.
China-market financial data
Tushare Pro is built around Chinese financial-market data, a points-based permission system, and access through HTTP, SDKs, and MCP. Narwhal serves a different core job: one published contract spanning selected global economics, FX, equities, SEC filing metadata, Palmoil, and calendars.
Choose Tushare for deep mainland-China securities, funds, futures, options, or financial-statement data, including access through its MCP server. Choose Narwhal when its published international and cross-domain datasets fit the job and you want one shared quota across REST and MCP.
You need Narwhal's published international economic indicators, FX, SEC filing discovery, selected equities, Palmoil, or holiday data through one account.
You need mainland-China market depth, including the stock, fund, futures, options, or financial datasets listed in Tushare's permission documentation.
These products overlap only partly. Narwhal does not claim Tushare's China-market breadth, and Tushare's points and separate permissions should be checked for every required dataset.
| Requirement | Narwhal API | Tushare Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Primary market fit | Selected international and US-oriented public and financial datasets. | Chinese securities and broader domestic financial-market datasets. |
| Equity data | A published catalogue of 102 common stocks with split-adjusted daily OHLCV; streaming covers a smaller listed set. | Daily, weekly, funds, futures, options, financial statements, and other datasets with varying permissions. |
| Access model | Free and paid plans use request quotas shared by REST and MCP. | Many datasets require a minimum points level; some categories use separately purchased permissions. |
| Interfaces | Direct HTTP JSON endpoints and a hosted MCP endpoint share one product contract. | HTTP, SDK, and hosted MCP access are documented; the integrated pro_bar helper specifically runs in the SDK layer and is not directly callable over HTTP. |
| Cross-domain scope | Economics, FX, equities, SEC filings, Palmoil, and public holidays. | Deep market, company, fund, futures, options, and other China-focused financial data. |
